Cynthia J. Luxford, CPM-LDM
I have been serving families as a midwife since 1988. I began my apprenticeship after the birth of my last child in 1985. I am certified by NARM, the North American Registry of Midwives and also licensed by the state of Oregon. I am a preceptor for NARM and have trained many apprentices over the years. I attend more than the required hours of Continuing Education every year and have taught midwifery courses at conferences and written articles for Midwifery Journals. I served as Secretary of the Oregon Midwifery Council in the 1990's and also served a term on the Board of Direct Entry Midwives.
Cynthia is accompanied by assistants or students at each birth. You will be able to meet them prior to your birth.
Tawnie Roberds, DEM is a former apprentice of Cynthia. She has a vast body of knowledge to draw from as she has been a licensed midwife in Alaska, and an EMT in Idaho and Nevada. Her skills are an absolute asset to our team. Tawnie is a registered Traditional Birth Attendant and is able to sign birth certificates. She also is a State Certified Doula and provides these services to all of our OHP clients.
